KPN International has achieved MEF 9 and MEF 14 certification. The certificates were presented by the MEF (Metro Ethernet Forum) at the IIR & MEF Carrier Ethernet Awards 2011 ceremony held in Amsterdam on October 12, 2011.

These certifications are the mainstays of the MEF program, and verify the conformance and performance of the most widely deployed services in the Carrier Ethernet market place. Jasper Snijder, Managing Director of KPN International said, “In passing the rigorous certification tests set by the MEF, KPN International affirms its leadership position in the provision of high quality MEF certified Carrier Ethernet services. Certification is an important statement of trust for our clients.”

Since launching its Next Generation Network (NGN) services in 2009, KPN International has witnessed explosive demand for high-performance Ethernet services. Rutger Gerritz, VP Product Marketing & Business Development explains, “Our clients demand more than resilience and cost-effectiveness: they need end-to-end network services, and today that means being able to fully embrace Carrier Ethernet.”

The MEF global industry alliance comprises more than 185 organizations, and MEF certification is now recognized as the assurance of quality and compliance for a provider of Carrier Ethernet services. Certification is independently conducted by Iometrix test labs on behalf of the MEF.
